Evidence-based therapy approaches are those that are researched to show that they can make a measurable difference in improving patients’ mental health and reducing symptoms. Most of these approaches have been studied for many years, and we have a good understanding of how and why they work. We take a primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach to treatment, also incorporating other evidence-based approaches when needed.
Our ServicesOur providers are trained to treat a broad spectrum of presenting concerns – we have training in structured and time-limited evidence-based therapy for specific disorders, and we are also able to provide more open-ended exploratory work for those navigating challenging life transitions or stressors. When you meet with us, our first step is fully understanding your goals for therapy and developing a treatment plan that is tailored to you.
When you meet with one of our providers for individual therapy, the first step is assessing your symptoms and goals. This will allow you and your provider to collaborate on determining the best course of treatment for you. Treatment often includes gaining a better understanding of connections between your thinking patterns, behaviors, and emotions in a process of self-monitoring and reflection. Your therapist will also assist you in structured skill-building and often assign between session exercises to generalize what you are learning in therapy sessions to your daily life.
Our providers have training in a variety of structured treatment protocols, including:
Our couple therapy providers have advanced training and specialization in evidence-based therapy for relationship concerns. When seeing us for couple therapy, you can expect comprehensive assessment of the presenting problems. Often there will be recurring conflicts that are core to the issues, we will explore each partner’s perspective and goals and develop a tailored intervention plan to work towards greater relationship well-being and mutual understanding. This typically will involve skill-building and between session communication exercises to work towards shifting from repetitive draining patterns to patterns of interaction that feel more positively reinforcing and allow for greater closeness.
Our providers have training in a variety of evidence-based approaches, including:
In our practice, we welcome individuals with diverse constellations of intersecting identities. We work to provide culturally-tailored and affirming care that centers your values and lived experiences. As providers, we continually seek out continuing education, readings, and resources to understand our own worldview and lens, to stay up-to-date on the best treatments, and to also critically consider how to best tailor our care for the wide range of communities we serve.
We are private pay out-of-network providers, which means we are not in-network with any insurance companies and payment is due at the time of the session. You will be asked to provide a payment method during the intake process. We accept credit, debit, and HSA cards. You will be billed the day of your session and provided with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement if you choose to do so.
All of our therapy services are delivered using a HIPAA compliant telehealth platform, so you will see your therapist from the comfort of your own home or other location of your choosing. We do not offer any in-person services at this time. Some of our providers are members of PSYPACT, meaning that while they are based and licensed in Washington state, they are able to work with patients remotely via telehealth who are located in other PSYPACT member states. If you are located outside of Washington state and are interested in services, you can check here to see if your state is a PSYPACT member.
